Providing service in Ulus since 1994, Sunset Grill&Bar presents tastes from 4 different cuisines including Mediterranean, Turkish and Japanese cuisines and Sushi Bar. Having been granted the Best Award of Excellence last year to be included among the 878 restaurants with the best wine menu in the world, Sunset is the only restaurant in Turkey which received this award. Can you give us brief information about Sunset Grill&Bar?

Sunset Grill&Bar opened in 1994 as Californian cuisine. Afterwards, with customers’ demands and with the change of customer profile, and particularly because foreign customers want to see and taste Turkish cuisine, Turkish food was added to the menu. Sunset Grill&Bar presents different tastes from 4 different cuisines including Mediterranean, Turkish and Japanese cuisines and Sushi Bar. Exhibiting his talent and experience in his own kitchen and describing his style as “New Japenese Cuisine”, the Japanese Chief Hiroki Takemura shapes the menu of Sunset with all delicious specialities. We have been offering our customers a rich wine menu by successfully serving the rarest and the most valuable wines of the world. Sunset was granted in 2011 the ”Award of Excellence” by the Wine Spectator magazine which is an important authority in the world of wines. In 2012 it was included among the 878 restaurants with the best wine menu in the world with the "Best Award of Excellence".

We will complete our 19th anniversary this year. Every year we change our menus according to season. There are changes of decoration every year. Last month we renewed our kitchen and our bar. We are planning to always maintain and increase our quality. In summer months different DJ’s start working in our bar. These activities will continue in 2013 as well.

Can you tell us about the quality policy that you implement in your restaurant?

As part of the quality policy, first of all we try to purchase the best of the products. This covers everything from vegetables to plates, glasses, tablecloths. At the same time we care for hygiene. We have a hygiene advisor who visits us every week to perform checks and prepare reports. And we take measures accordingly.

What does hygiene mean to you as part of the quality policy?

Hygiene is an absolute must for a restaurant. It is one of the principal rules. Therefore we care a lot for the hygiene rules that must be implemented. We ensure giving related training to our personnel. As I have mentioned before, our advisor comes and performs checks every week. Reports are written at the end of these checks. We complete any missing points and we prefer those products which must be used for hygiene. We made our preference in favor of Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel products.

Can yo tell us the reasons why you prefer Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel?

We believe that Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel products have quality. We used different products before but we were not satisfied with the level of quality. We continue using Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel products because the professional tissue paper products, dishwashing detergents, general cleaning products are more hygienic and have higher quality.Also Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel is a company that provides timely solutions. They respond instantly when we have problems and solve them.

Which products of Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel are you using? What is your level of satisfaction so far? Is there any training that you have been implementing in cooperation with Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel?

We are using Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel’s Maratem Professional cleaning and chemical products and Marathon and Selpak Professional cleaning paper products. Also we serve our customers’ meals on the Villeroy & Boch plates of Eczacıbaşı. Our satisfaction from Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel’s products is reflected to our customers’ satisfaction. We receive training from Maratem Academy which gives education, inspection and consulting services for Eczacıbaşı Profesyonel.
